Twitter is seeking a Director of Business Development - Japan who will be responsible for negotiating Twitter’s strategic partnerships for both countries as well as managing a partnerships team based in Japan. These partnerships will range from driving significant user growth of Twitter users globally to generating new revenue streams for the company. The position is based in Tokyo, Japan.

Responsibilities:
Manage a team, focused on creating and managing strategic partnerships for Japan.
Negotiate multi-faceted, complex deals with some of Twitter’s most strategic and largest partners.
Drive key relationships and manage a partnerships team focused on deepening existing key strategic partnerships.
Develop new partnership strategies and structures through thought leadership and execution with cross-functional and cross-border product and engineering teams.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
10+ years of business development experience at technology companies.
Experience managing a team in region, preferably for a multi-national company.
Extensive experience and relationships working with large consumer technology partners, including consumer web and mobile (such as DeNA, Google, GREE, Microsoft, mixi, NTT, Rakuten, SoftBank, Yahoo JP, etc.).
Technologically savvy in both the web and mobile spaces -- able to speak with confidence regarding technological underpinnings, including API’s, SDK’s, etc.
Sharp strategic thinker and collaborator who can both design and execute on a vision, while working cross-functionally from and in a remote office.
Excellent communicator with solid written and fluent verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
Proven success in negotiating complex deals and driving most aspects of the legal process.
Ability to run quickly with little supervision and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Able to travel (roughly 20% of the time).
BS in CS / Engineering preferred; MBA a plus.

10+ years’ relevant business experience, including social media and online advertising -- deep marketing and operations expertise required, preferably dealing with SMB customers.
Experience with direct response-oriented marketing, business development, and partner management
Strong coaching and people management skills with a focus on associate development
Demonstrated career success to date, with steadily increasing levels of responsibility.
Strong written / communication skills -- can craft content that will drive acquisition.

Product Marketing Manager - Twitter - Tokyo


Job description

The Twitter global advertising product marketing team is looking for a seasoned product marketer to bring advertising products to market across Asia Pacific. You will deeply understand the needs and daily life of advertisers across industries and sizes. This market driven insight will enable you position our products and how best to use them.

You will develop messaging, positioning, value propositions, and storylines for each of an ongoing stream of releases. You will help our sales team understand how each release works, how to talk about it, and how to maximize each release’s positive impact for clients.

You will work with global sales, other product marketers, product management, sales packaging, and other teams to document, disseminate, and refine these product updates around the world. You will also perform competitive analysis on competitive product offerings.

For larger releases, you will manage beta programs with our most strategic clients and their agencies. This will involve communicating extensively with sellers, clients, and agencies about the release, soliciting feedback during the beta, and enforcing the rules of the beta.

You will also facilitate feedback from our sales team and the market in to our product management and engineering teams on an ongoing basis. You will manage a more formal quarterly feedback process as well.

To hit the ground running in this role, you will bring a deep understanding the online advertising industry. You will use an existing and solid understanding of advertising products and how they work. You will also have a strong selling sensibility that enables you to uncover customer needs and product benefits to provide solution-selling storylines for sales.

You will be completely fluent in English and Japanese. Your fluency and cultural sensitivity will form an active bridge between our global headquarters in San Francisco and our Asia Pacific teams, beginning with Japan.

Responsibilities
Create Product Marketing Briefs and objection handling docs for each release
Work closely with sales marketing, marketing communications and sales team to create externally facing materials
Train sellers globally about each release
Manage beta programs
Facilitate market feedback in to our product management and engineering teams
Analyze competitive product offerings
Work effectively in a heavily cross functional, fast paced environment, especially working across our product and sales teams
Desired Skills and Experience

Complete fluency in English and Japanese. Professional experience in both the US and Japan a plus
Bachelor degree. MBA a plus
5-9 years of experience
3+ years of experience in product marketing for advertising products working with a sales force. Previous product management experience a plus
Deep understanding of digital advertising. Experience as an advertiser, agency, publisher, or advertising platform preferred
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into simple, accurate, and intuitive communications and instruction
Passion for Twitter, selling, storytelling, customer, market dynamics and opportunities
Experience working in team environments with limited supervision
