Position Description
CCP is responsible for supporting Morgan Stanley's clients and other MS business divisions to provide wide range of support related to their entrance of the business with Morgan Stanley, trading activities, settlement process, and business enablement. Issuing trade confirmations with correct allocation in an accurate /timely manner and appropriate communication including timely escalation of issues to our clients are becoming more and more important responsibilities for CCP. Our better performance helps the smooth process at client side and the better risk control at the firm. It makes difference competing with other brokers. In addition to day-to-day tasks, CCP frequently supports firms new business with client service aspects closely working with other divisions such as Equity Business Unit, Legal & Compliance, IT, and other groups in Operations. Visiting clients is another activity that CCP can add value to enable the business and to get necessary feedback for the firm to provide the right client services.
The position is within a group with the size of 14FTE, and the area that CCP supports has a great diversity. Therefore, there are great opportunities to develop team work skills, communication skills interacting with various parties, and a wide range of business knowledge. And also this position has lots of opportunities to contact with various overseas colleagues in related to the client?s activities and inquiries. It is expected to proactively liaise with other offices and parties to add value as the group who capture client activities upstream. In addition to internal communications, the position has an exposure to our external clients on a daily basis. Key responsibilities:
-Maneging team of 14 with the other Director.
-Mangeing day to day and projects.
-Products/Business to cover: JPY and NonJPY Cash Equities, Margin Business, Convertible Bonds, ITM, ETF, TOPAS.
-Trade booking, confirmation generation, and confirmation delivery in a timely and accurate manner.
-Unmatched and fails management by monitoring exceptions and timely escalation to sales & trading desks and clients/counterparties.
-Static Data maintenance such as commission rate and confirmation delivery details which are critical for bringing correct commission and for maintenance of client confidentiality respectively.
-Reviewing and monitoring risk reports and solving exception items.
-Dealing with various queries from both external and internal clients.
-Building client relationship through day-to-day processing and contacts.
-Maintenance of effective risk controls over clients' trading activities and timely escalation of issues to respective internal parties for the smooth resolution.
-Understanding the firm's various systems and inter-dependencies for the most effective usage.
-Liaison with other divisions such as IT, compliance, or CCP in other offices for problem solving or for meeting client requirements/ business needs.
Skills Required
-5 to 10 years of relevant Equity Operations experience with some supervisory experience
-Communication: Excellent communication skills are required both internally and externally to work with variety of stakeholders
-Language: Japanese and English are essential.
-PC skill: Must be a PC literate. Excel and Word skills are required.
-Other competencies: The person should be a self starter, a team player, a fast learner and independent. The person should be able to take initiative in providing excellent customer service and to have sound administrative discipline.
-Qualifications/experience -school degree: College graduate is preferred.
Skills Desired
-Product knowledge: Preferred to have a background of Equity products (preferably in the settlement or middle office)
