Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to provide partnership and leadership for Adobe Japan. Japan is a significant market for Adobe with its highly sophisticated nature and market needs. It contributes a substantive portion of revenue worldwide and more specifically to the JAPAC region. Adobe Japan is known in the market as one of the leading providers of exceptional software products and solutions.

As Head of People Resources for Japan, you will provide overall leadership and direction of people resources for Japan. You will lead and direct a team of People Resource professionals, and oversee and coordinate the strategic as well as operational People Resources requirements for Japan. This individual will function as a generalist to provide strategic people partnership to leaders and managers. Furthermore, in order to build effective relationships and partnerships with senior management, assist in the implementation of strategic and tactical plans to support the company’s overall strategic business direction ensuring alignment with company culture and values.

You will coordinate and collaborate with all functional corporate People Resources groups and provide key information to these groups for reporting and trending purposes. You will broker services and content expertise from these groups, as required, to meet the local needs of the Japan operations. You will also play a key role in partnering and influencing corporate People Resources counterparts on policy items that will have a direct impact within Japan. As a partner with business clients and internal People Resources functions they will lead, implement and drive initiatives in support of the business in order to increase organizational effectiveness, and contribute to making Adobe Japan a great place to work.
Responsibilities
Strategic partnership with Japan Leadership team on designing and deploying people strategies for Japan
Drive and implement People Resources strategies in partnership with Japan leadership and Corporate People Resources (as required) that will maximize the performance of the employees in Japan.
Lead talent development initiatives working with the Corporate L&D team
Ensure the effective monitoring of organizational performance including development and maintenance of a People Resources dashboard for Japan.
Partner with Managers in Japan to provide one on one support and coaching in performance management, employee relations issues (coordinating with legal), best practice consultations and processes.
Partner with Talent Selection, Comp& Benefits and L&D to drive business partnership for Japan
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
Experience of having worked in a sales driven organization in Japan and or Overseas
Fluency in Japanese as well as English
Extensive knowledge of People Resources practices, legislation and employment terms in Japan
Ability to manage, lead, develop and inspire team to high levels of performance
Expertise in Organizational design, consultation and change management
Ability to think strategically and be proactive to anticipate and provide alternatives and options to the business
Ability to develop productive and effective relationships across all levels and with diverse talent groups
Ability to diagnose and successfully handle complex performance management, employee relations and organizational development elements
Ability to conduct group facilitation, coach and counsel at all levels
Knowledge of local laws, statutes, etc. which govern employment policies and practices
Knowledge of compensation and benefit strategies and practices
Must be willing to travel within Japan and overseas
Must demonstrate behaviors aligned with Adobe values; genuine, exceptional, innovative and involved
