Group Account Director - OgilvyOne Worldwide - Tokyo

Job Summary:
The GAD of Ogilvy One Japan is one of the most important roles within the organization. The candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery of IBM and will be supported by Account Director, 5-6 Account Executives. The primary focus of the GAD position will be to manage all aspects of the client’s business by working with the One team to provide strong strategic and creative solutions.
The ideal candidate should process extensive knowledge in different aspects of marketing communication and general marketing services; which is expected to generate strong strategic curiosity in exploring business opportunities for Ogilvy One.
Also strong digital marketing knowledge, skill and experience are essential, as digital is now the key area for client to focus.
General management skills are also essential to the success of this role, which include: project management, account management, staff management, people management, and scope and fee management in your group. It is expected that you will ensure the efficiency of operations through constant process review and proactive response to market changes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as commercial maturity are essential criteria as is a dynamic and flexible approach. You should be proactive, dynamic and highly organized with a drive for achievement.
In addition to being able to identify new business opportunities and farming existing business within your group, your financial experience should be all-rounded; from resource allocation across disciplines, budget control, budget monitoring to budget reporting across your key clients.
Your success will be measured by client satisfaction as well as the growth of the business.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
Native in Japanese and business level English skill is required.
Main responsibilities:
1. Commercial Management
l With the GM/MD, responsibility to achieve the total revenues and direct contribution for the accounts in your control. You will also support develop the yearly business plan and forecasts.
2. Personnel and Training
l Support GM/MD with the training and development of local staff to undertake/support the services OgilvyOne provides.
l Abide by the WPP code of business conduct.
l Contribute actively to the management team and associated forums which add to the continued evolvement of the business.
3. Consulting/Account Planner/Strategic Counsel
l Providing account planning support for the accounts in your control.
l Provide clients counsel in the development of successful customer management strategies.
l General business planning and marketing strategy advice.
4. Business Development
l Independently and in partnership with the appropriate Ogilvy partners to develop, refine and implement the business development strategy.
l To identify and develop new business opportunities with the BD/MD that augments and/or expand the OgilvyOne services.
l To present and pitch our services to potential clients in a competitive context.
5. Client Servicing
l Managing and ensuring quality of our services to clients.
l Management and handling of key client briefs, projects and requests. Including the refinement of the above.
l The typical day to day management of clients and their requests including presentations, documentation, administration, etc. of client activities.
6. Other
l Development of close working relationships with other members of the Ogilvy group, and other WPP companies.
