Position Summary
Amazon seeks a Finance Director to lead a multi-national Finance Operations team. This position will be located in
Tokyo, Japan and will support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll activity for Asia. This position will
team with the Japan Retail, Retail Finance, Amazon Web Services and Amazon Digital businesses to build a world class

Finance Operations team.
Key Strategic Objectives
The successful candidate will manage a team of individuals in Tokyo and Beijing. Key responsibilities will include the
following:
Lead a team of 20+ (Managers and Staff) to optimize AP, AR and Payroll operations processes
Build and monitor the consolidated Japan Finance Operations annual operating plan to forecast headcount　needs with detailed analysis of budget to actual results on a monthly and quarterly basis
Partner with emerging businesses to develop and implement systems to support rapid growth
Maintain month-end close processes for Global Finance Operations, including close checklists, journal entry　review and account reconciliation preparation and review
Build scalable processes to recruit, train and develop multi-lingual business professionals to support business　expansion in Asia from Tokyo
Lead balance sheet review processes with the Finance Operations VP and Directors, and quarterly with the CFO

Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. in Finance or Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred
10+ years of leadership experience, managing finance, accounting and operational processes
Proven ability to build and lead large complex finance, accounting, project management team
Fluency in English and Japanese
Preferred Qualifications
Independent and entrepreneurial showing the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Proven project management ability that shows how to organize, find solutions, and follow through to a successful conclusion
Advanced presentation skills and the ability to guide and influence senior leadership
Internal and external customer focus and a work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
Exceptional business judgment capable of driving a diverse organization to the right results with a focused, pragmatic approach
Experience with Oracle Financials, Essbase, and Cognos planning is desired
