Director Commercial Operations WWE Tokyo

Job Description
Work closely with General Manager Asia Pacific and SVP of Content Media Distribution (CMD) International to create a Japan strategy and plan (including financial targets, other KPI’s) for media distribution across traditional TV, PPV, digital, mobile and OTT, in collaboration with all LOB (lines of businesses) to include Digital, Consumer Products, and Live Events
Provide in-country support of WWE Live Events, Consumer Products and eCommerce Shop.
Lead content distribution deal negotiations within Japan.
Serve as key point of contact to manage Japan media partners, working closely with Affiliate Relations, Marketing and regional offices to support all aspects of media partnerships
Establish market priorities, defining strategic and economic market opportunities, and prepare recommendations for go-to-market strategies with focus on digital distribution opportunities
Drive distribution growth with a view to optimizing and balancing true content value, reach, revenue, and brand-impact


Provide leadership for the media distribution business in developing annual revenue budgets and executing tactical plans, and reporting progress regularly to senior management
Partner with other Japan team colleagues to ensure WWE content distribution supports market objectives
Work with Legal and Business Affairs and International CMD colleagues to provide framework for negotiations and closely monitor deals from initial agreement through contract execution
Monitor the media marketplace to stay current with international market trends and pro-actively drive tactics to maximize brand value
Integrate and synergize media distribution business with overall WWE commercial goals.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Dynamic, energetic, entrepreneurial, hands-on approach and creative thinker
Proven leadership experience, well respected and known in the Japanese region media and entertainment space
Experience working with national (and international) media partners, including media companies
Strong understanding of changing consumer media-consumption behavior in the context of an evolving digital landscape
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and structurally, with a track record in international cross-platform content licensing or syndication.
Exceptional ability in defining true content value and competitive content valuations
Prior experience working within a cross-function matrix environment
Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing and thriving in a fast-paced environment
Experience in content analysis, revenue forecasting and budgeting is strongly preferred
Team player, with proven ability to lead and create consensus among multiple business units
Strong experience interacting with and presenting to senior executives, as well as the ability to work with senior leaders – ability to quickly establish oneself as credible with Executive Management
Able to adjust and adapt to varying changes in your markets/region
Bilingual skills preferred
Respected and recognized senior media and entertainment executive with broad and deep network in the entertainment and media industry
Proven goal and results driven work ethic
Proven track record in business and growth planning
Experience in identifying and closing strategic partnerships
Ability to analyze and translate market/competitive dynamics into business actions
Strong written and verbal skills in both Japanese and English
