POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent has to be familiar with the card industry in Japan and Visa rules in order to be able to handle VIOR and compliance issues. She/ he also has to have a good knowledge of the complicated structure for Japan domestic markets. i.e. IRF, Network, etc. She/ he needs to work closely with other teams with the common objective of achieving the overall Japan country targets.

Develop Business Strategy and Implement card acceptance development plan in identified merchant segments to grow MSV
Manage and strengthen relationships with key acquirers nationwide
Support all products both consumer and commercial in card acceptance
Provide support to Business Development and acquirers on all compliance and VIOR issues related to Acceptance
Support Market Expansion team to improve card accepting infrastructure in Japan


RESPONSIBILITIES

Based upon the business plan, develop new acceptance and drive MSV in focus segments. Focus segments are Food supermarket, Utility, Medical, Life Insurance, Education and Rent.
Manage merchant relations at key merchants e.g. JCOM, Yahoo, McDonalds and Seven-Eleven
Strategically support Clients in merchant development especially in focus merchant segments
Develop card acceptance for B2B in collaboration with Commercial Team
Support Market Expansion team to improve card accepting infrastructure in Japan


Qualifications

Professional

Bachelor Degree preferably in business management
High level of English Language Proficiency in formal business conversation and writing.
+5 year experience in the payments industry.

IT knowledge pertaining to networking and payments industry
Financial analysis
Market analysis
Marketing knowledge

Business

Selling skills
Negotiating skills
Relationship management skills
Business agreement drafting skills
Fluent in English and Japanese for both spoken and written
