Director - Business Development – Digital Products - Amazon Japan - Tokyo
Job description
Position Summary
As Director, Business Development, you will work closely with Amazon’s senior leadership and product development teams to secure and develop strategic partnerships with major mobile, technology, and content brands. In this critical role, you will help to evolve future digital products and applications for Amazon. You will be required to handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and effectively negotiate terms that benefit Amazon and our customers. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to leverage your understanding of the Internet, high-tech and mobile industries inside one of the world’s leading technology companies to structure innovative and impactful partnerships.
Key Strategic Objectives
Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships and marketing deals that drive competitive advantage and customer delight, and support the strategic objectives of Amazon on a global basis.
Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of partnerships and work with appropriate product leaders and across all functional areas of Amazon to execute on the relationships.
Recruit and mentor other business development and partner management professionals.
10-50% travel required

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
MBA preferred
Basic Requirement
15+ years of business development experience
Experience identifying and executing successful large-scale partnership deals
Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements
Experience with business models and data analysis
Experience leading business development or similar teams
Detailed knowledge of Japanese Internet, high-tech, and mobile industries
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
Strong oral and written communication skills along with a proven ability to influence others internally and externally
Sound business judgment and strong analytical thinking
Qualification regarding Japanese/Japan
Business level anguage capability
Culture understanding
Strong connection in relevant Japan market
Preferred Qualifications
Experience executing deals in high-tech and mobile industries with major brands
Experience executing technology, services, and marketing partnerships
Committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge
