Operating Expense Planning & Service Manager - The Coca-Cola Company - Tokyo


Job description
Operating Expense (Opex) Planning & Service Manger is responsible for

1) optimal allocation of Opex among functions especially in the budgeting process
2) identify Opex reduction opportunity and improve spending efficiency
3) monitor the year-to-date status
4) providing analysis, explanation and business recommendations to senior management

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
・ To maximize the Opex ROI, drive optimal allocation of Opex among functions especially in the annual budgeting process. During the year, identify Opex reduction/reallocation opportunity and provide recommendation to budget owners and management. (25%)
・ Conduct monthly rolling estimate (update full-year estimate on a monthly basis), reflecting the key Opex strategies and latest information from the management. (25%)
・ Create management report covering overall Opex for Japan business unit vs. annual budget & vs. last year and understand where key variances are coming from & reasons and recommend actions to course correct (25%)
・ Identify areas of improvements and work with necessary functions to establish more efficient process or structure (10%)
・ Track cost saving initiatives and report to management (i.e. travel, meeting expenses) (5%)
・ Work as a liaison between HQ/ Asia Pacific Group/CCJC Management for Opex and communicate effectively while fully understanding Japan’s business strategies and directions (5%)
・ Ensure all internal control guidelines are observed and take actions where weakness is found (5%)

Supervisory Responsibilities:
・ No (Individual Contributor)

Language Capability:
・ Native level of Japanese
・ Fluent level of English (writing and speaking)

Related Work Experience:
・ 5-10 years of experience in the area of finance and accounting
・ Worked in multi-national company with diversified working environment
・ Experience in client financial service role is a plus
・ Daily use of Excel and PowerPoint skill (preferably macro)
・ Effectively manage communication with Asia Pacific Group or Corporate

Other Technical Skill/Knowledge:
・ Improvement oriented mind-set to come up with recommendations
・ Strong data analytical skill
・ Good understanding of cost accounting and internal control
・ Logical thinking with ability to explain in simple way
・ Adaptability to learn new things and work effectively in new environment

Minimum Educational Requirements:
・ B.A / B.S degree qualification with preference in Finance and or Accounting major
・ Holding MBA and/or CPA is a plus
・ Experience in bilingual environment is a plus
